Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 August 2026
These terms govern your use of ThatNewJob (the "Service"), operated by David Dickinson ("I", "me", "we"), a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. What ThatNewJob is
ThatNewJob is a lead-tracking tool for freelancers: a pipeline for your business opportunities, notes, meetings, and follow-up reminders. It's provided as-is, for use in running your own freelance or small business — it is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, or business advice.
2. Your account
You need an account to use ThatNewJob. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell me if you think your account has been compromised.
You must be at least 18 years old to use ThatNewJob.
3. Your content
Everything you add to ThatNewJob — leads, client details, notes, voice recordings — is yours. I don't claim ownership of it. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to store and process any information about third parties (like your clients' contact details) that you add to the app.
You can export your data at any time from the app's Profile screen, and delete your account and all associated data whenever you choose.
4. Plans and billing
The free plan supports up to 5 active leads. The Pro plan removes that limit and adds voice note transcription. Pro is billed as a recurring subscription (monthly or annual) through Apple's App Store, Google Play, or web billing, depending on how you signed up.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time through the app store or billing platform you subscribed with — I don't handle cancellations directly, since the app stores manage the billing relationship. Refunds are subject to the relevant app store's own refund policy.
A "gifted" plan may be granted at my discretion (e.g. for early testers) and can be revoked at any time without notice.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal, or to store data you don't have the right to hold
- Attempt to access another user's account or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service
6. Availability
I aim to keep ThatNewJob available and your data safe, but I can't guarantee uninterrupted service. ThatNewJob is built on Firebase/Google Cloud infrastructure and inherits their availability. I'm not liable for outages or data loss caused by third-party infrastructure providers, though I'll do what I reasonably can to help.
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the app. I may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, misuses the Service, or where required by law. Where reasonably possible, I'll give notice first.
8. Limitation of liability
ThatNewJob is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, I'm not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (like lost business or lost profits) arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited, such as liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Changes
I may update these terms or the Service over time. If a change is material, I'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify active users in-app. Continuing to use ThatNewJob after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
