Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 August 2026
ThatNewJob is a lead-tracking app for freelancers, built and operated by David Dickinson ("I", "me", "we"), a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what data ThatNewJob collects, why, and what your rights are. It applies to the ThatNewJob app (iOS, Android, and web) and to thatnewjob.com.
The short version: I don't sell your data, I don't run ads, and I don't use tracking or analytics SDKs. The data the app collects exists to make the app work for you — nothing more.
1. Who is responsible for your data
David Dickinson is the data controller for account information (your name, email, and plan status). For the lead and client records you create in the app, you are the data controller — ThatNewJob (and its infrastructure providers) processes that data on your behalf, as your data processor, so you can run your freelance business.
2. What I collect
Account information. Name and email address when you sign up, and your subscription plan (free, pro, or gifted).
Lead and business data you enter. Client names, opportunity details, contact information for your clients, notes, meeting records, and follow-up dates — whatever you choose to add to track your pipeline.
Voice notes (Pro plan). If you record a voice note, the audio is uploaded, sent to Google Cloud's Speech-to-Text service for transcription, saved as a text note on the relevant lead, and the original audio file is then deleted. The audio itself is not retained after transcription.
Subscription and payment data. Purchases are handled by Apple's App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat's web billing — ThatNewJob never sees or stores your full card details. RevenueCat shares subscription status (active, cancelled, expired) so the app can unlock Pro features.
Technical data. Standard infrastructure logs (e.g. IP address, device/browser type) are generated by Firebase as part of normal service operation. ThatNewJob does not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
3. How I use it
- To create and secure your account, and let you sign in
- To store and display your leads, notes, meetings, and reminders
- To transcribe voice notes you choose to record (Pro plan)
- To manage your subscription and unlock the right features for your plan
- To respond to feedback or support requests you send through the app
- To keep the service secure and working as intended
4. Who I share it with
I don't sell your data or share it for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the app:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform — authentication, database, file storage, and backend functions
- Google Cloud Speech-to-Text — transcribes voice notes you record (Pro plan only)
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions across the App Store, Google Play, and web billing
- Apple App Store / Google Play — process payments for subscriptions purchased through the mobile apps
These providers process data under their own privacy and security terms, and only to the extent needed to provide their service to ThatNewJob.
5. Where your data is stored
Data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, which may process and store data outside the UK/EEA. Google maintains standard contractual safeguards (including Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers.
6. How long I keep it
Account and lead data is kept for as long as your account is active. Deleting a lead in the app moves it to a "recently deleted" state, from where you can restore it — it is not immediately and permanently erased. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Profile screen; this is irreversible.
7. Your rights
If UK/EU data protection law applies to you, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data — available directly from the app's Profile screen, or by contacting me
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format — available directly from the app's Profile screen ("download your data"), or by contacting me
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Complain to a supervisory authority — in the UK, theInformation Commissioner's Office (ICO)
To exercise any of these rights, use the relevant option in the app or contact me using the details in section 9.
8. Children's privacy
ThatNewJob is a business tool for freelancers and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children. I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data: privacy@wallaceandwang.com.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, I'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify active users in-app.
